Dogtime is a great resource for learning about your dog. There are two quizzes I found interesting. The first quiz will help you answer the question, Am I Ready For A Dog. The second quiz will help you choose what breed would be good for you. I took the Dog Breed Selector quiz. It gave me a list of five dog breeds four of which I had never heard of but then they were mostly mixed breeds. If anything it broadened my knowledge of dog breeds.
