ATHENA. IS LOOKING FOR THE PERFECT HOME, AS HER DAD WITH SEVERE HEALTH ISSUES, HAD TO LET HER GO. HE HAD HER SINCE A PUPPY.. and would not get needed care until we had her safe as promised!
WHAT AN AMAZING GIRL!

Athena is a happy, confident, and very healthy, spayed, 70lbs, 7+year old Lab-Shepherd mixed girl: that makes her a ‘Sheprador’. So by adopting Athena you get the best of both breeds.

She is a good-natured, affectionate girl, a bit spoiled, and very easy to fall in love with. She is a perfect companion dog, one who forms a close bond with her owner quickly. She is very well socialized and especially great with children of all ages. She likes other dogs even if she doesn’t interact with them immediately. (She is not great with cats.) She is housebroken and up to date on all her vaccines. She was adopted as a puppy and stayed with her daddy until he had to give her up due to illness. It’s obvious she was always treated well and has no major behavior issues that need correcting. She is enjoying life at foster mom’s home with 3 other doggie friends but has her bag packed with her original puppy quilt looking forward to making a happy difference in her furrever home!

Athena’s lab-half makes her very energetic and active. She lives for the great outdoors, so if you consider adopting Athena, keep in mind that she needs an active lifestyle with daily walks, weekend hikes, or swim outings. She can make a perfect running buddy and gets all excited to come along in the car to help run errands or go for a weekend jaunt. Her favorite thing to do besides hiking and splashing in muddy creeks is roaming tall grassy fields. She does this for hours without getting lost or running off! Her fluffy wagging tail is always within sight, and she comes running when called. Her leash manners are good and even better after 15 minutes. She still needs to learn to redirect her excitement when she sees other dogs while walking on a leash…

On rainy or cold days, Athena is happy to take naps inside; she’s a ‘side sleeper’ so a large flat cushion is best! After the outdoor fun, she sits calmly, front paws crossed, happy to share cheese and crackers!

She can easily win the ‘Dog Of The Year’ prize! It won’t be long before she will have her new owner or family completely hooked and become their new best friend.
