- Try to burn off some of their energy. Take a long walk or run. Play a game of fetch or their
favorite game. - Treats and toys will help the dog feel more comfortable. Don’t forget to have some water for them.
- Be patient and creative. Not all dogs are well trained or behaved.
- Try different angles, get down to their level. Zoom in them.
- “Focus on the eyes as a good rule of thumb.” Whiskers and noses can be creative points of focus.
- Use props. A
favorite toy can make open up opportunities for cute poses. - Take your photographs somewhere your dog is comfortable, out in the yard, the park, in an open field. What excites your dog?
- Zoom into your dog instead of getting closer. Try using a burst mode to take a rapid succession of photographs.
- Use a high shutter speed to capture motion. Also, use burst mode to take a rapid succession of photographs.
- Watch your lighting. The same rules or guidelines for taking any photo applies here.
- Smartphones work great at taking wonderful photographs, it is really the lighting that makes a difference.
- Try to reduce camera shake. Take several shots you can select the best ones later.
