This week I wanted to talk about post editing. This is not an instructional post on how to edit your photographs, but a discussion and example as to why to edit them.
Even professional photographers edit their photos! I am not a professional photographer, not even close. Just look at my photos below and you tell that. There are a lot of edits us “point and click” types can use to improve our “ho hum” boring photos to something a little more exciting, intriguing, or just not as boring.
The first four photographs are just as they were taken with my phone’s camera. The last four are the same photographs with simple crops, zoom ins, or both.
Sure these are still just average photos but they do look better than they did. As your skills editing photos grows, you can even remove objects out of the photo. If you can make boring photos a little more interesting, what could you do with a great photo. My daughter-in-law was able to take three good photographs, edit and print them. She then displayed them at her local county fair where she placed second, third, and fourth place. The photos where taken on her cell phone’s camera.
Go out take some pictures! Play around with editing them. Watch some instructional YouTube videos. You can take you photograph to the next level.
