Let Sleeping Dogs Lie means to leave things as they are; especially, to avoid restarting or rekindling an old argument; to leave disagreements in the past.Eventually, they decided it would be best to let sleeping dogs lie and not discuss the matter any further.

He is hard to catch sleeping. He seems to be on constant alert.
Lucy is our old girl. She get very cranky when disturbed by the other dogs.
Oscar loves his attention, he is very insistent about his attention. This is about the only time you can get a break from it.
